Queen Māyā's Prophetic Dream

ໃນວັນຂຶ້ນ 15​ຄ່ຳ​ ເດືອນ​ 8ເຊິ່ງເປັນເວລາທີ່ພຣະເຈົ້າສຸທໂທທະນະ (ພໍ່)​ ພະນາງສິຣິມາຫາມາຍາ (ແມ່).​ໄດ້ອະພິເສດສົມຣົດກັນບໍ່ດົນ (ກິນດອງ)​

ໃນຄືນນັ້ນ ພະນາງສິຣິມາຫາມາຍາ ກຳລັງບັນທົມຫຼັບສະນິດໃນພຣະແທ່ນທີ່ບັນທົມ ກໍ່ໄດ້ສຸບິນນິມິດຝັນວ່າ ຕົນຢູ່ໃນປ່າຫິມະພານ​ ໄດ້ມີຊ້າງເຊືອກໜຶ່ງລົງມາຈາກຍອດພູເຂົາສູງ ເຂົ້າມາຫາພະນາງ ກອງທິບບັນລືລັ່ນທົ່ວເວຫາ ຄົນຕາບອດກັບເບິ່ງເຫັນ ຄົນຫູໜວກກັບໄດ້ຍິນ

ຫຼັງພະນາງຊົງຕື່ນຈາກທີ່ບັນທົມກໍ່ໃຫ້ໂຫຣາຈານປະຈຳຣາຊສຳນັກມາທຳນາຍຝັນໃຫ້ 

-ເປັນສຸບິນນິມິດທີ່ດີ ຈະມີຣາດຊະໂອຣົດຜູ້ປະເສີດອຸບັດບັງເກີດນຳພະນາງ

ກອງທິບບັນລືລັ່ນນັ້ນຄື ນິມິດ​ ໝາຍເຖິງພຣະກຽດຕິຄຸນຂອງພະຣາຊກຸມມານຈະແຜ່ໄປທົ່ວໂລກ ຄົນຫູໜວກຕາບອດຄືຄົນທີ່ມີກິເລດ ໄດ້ສະດັບຮັບຟັງສັຈຈະວາຈາຈາກກຸມມານແລ້ວກໍ່ຈະເຊົາຫູໜວກຕາບອດຄື ມີປັນຍາຮູ້ແຈ້ງມອງເຫັນຫົນທາງພົ້ນທຸກນັ້ນເອງ

Episode: Queen Māyā's Prophetic Dream

On the night of the full moon of the 8th lunar month (15th day of waxing moon), shortly after King Suddhodana (father) and Queen Māyā (mother) had been together (consummated their union), Queen Māyā fell into a deep and peaceful sleep on her royal bed.

That night, she had a prophetic dream (sūbinnimit):
She saw herself in the Himavanta Forest, and from the peak of a high mountain descended a white elephant, approaching her with a radiant, divine light shining throughout the sky.

Even the blind could see.
Even the deaf could hear.

When she awoke, the Queen summoned the royal astrologers to interpret the dream.

They declared:

“It is a most auspicious dream. A noble royal son will be born to Her Majesty.
The radiant light symbolizes the glorious spiritual power of the Prince, which will shine throughout the world.
The blind and deaf represent those clouded by defilements.
They shall hear the Truth (Dhamma) from the Prince and be freed from ignorance—attaining wisdom and seeing the path to liberation.”
