When Mara Danced Before the Buddha

ຕອນທີ; ພຣະພຸດທະເຈົ້າປາບມານ

ໃນຊ່ວງໜຶ່ງຫຼັງຈາກພຣະພຸດທະເຈົ້າໄດ້ຕຣັສຮູ້ແລະເຜີຍແຜ່ທັມມະໃຫ້ແກ່ເຫຼົ່າສາວົກ ພະຍາມານ ຕົວແທນຂອງກິເລດ ຕັນຫາ ແລະ ຄວາມຫຼອກລວງຂອງໂລກ ຍັງບໍ່ຍອມທີ່ຈະກໍ່ກວນພຣະອົງ 

ພະຍາມານຄິດພະຍາບາດພຣະອົງອີກຄັ້ງ  ດ້ວຍວິທີຕ່າງໆ ຄັ້ງນີ້ມານບໍ່ໄດ້ມາໃນຮູບແບບຂອງນັກຮົບ ຫຼື ລູກທະນູ ແຕ່ກັບມາໃນລັກຊະນະຂອງນັກເຕັ້ນ ໃສ່ເສື້ອຜ້າຫຼູລາ ລົມພັດສວຍງາມ ເຕັ້ນໄປມາສວຍງາມ ພະຍາຍາມຫຼອກລໍ້ພຣະພຸດທະເຈົ້າດ້ວຍຄວາມງາມ ສຽງເພງ ແລະ ການເຄື່ອນໄຫລທີ່ໜ້າຫຼົງໄຫຼ 

ເຂົາເຕັ້ນຢູ່ໜ້າພະພັກຂອງພຣະພຸດທະອົງຢ່າງໝັ້ນໃຈ ຄືກັບວ່າ  “ທັມມະຂອງເພິ່ນແນ່ຊ່ຳໃດ? ຈະຕ້ານຄວາມງາມຂອງໂລກນີ້ໄດ້ຫຼືບໍ ?”

ພຣະພຸດທະເຈົ້າພຽງແຕ່ເບິ່ງດ້ວຍຕາທີ່ປ່ຽມດ້ວຍເມຕຕາ ແລະ ຄວາມເຂົ້າໃຈຢ່າງລະອຽດ ຊົງບໍ່ໄດ້ຫຼີກລ້ຽງການເບິ່ງ ຊົງບໍ່ໄດ້ຕຳນິການເຕັ້ນຂອງພະຍາມານ ແຕ່ກັບກ່າວວ່າ:

“ມານເອີ່ຍ ເຈົ້າຟ້ອນໄດ້ງົດງາມຫຼາຍ … ແຕ່ໃຈເຮົານັ້ນບໍ່ໄດ້ເຄື່ອນໄຫວຕາມການເຕັ້ນລຳຂອງເຈົ້າ ”

ການເຕັ້ນລຳຂອງພະຍາມານຄ່ອຍໆ ຊ້າລົງ ຈາກຄວາມໝັ້ນໃຈເລີ່ມກາຍເປັນຄວາມລະອາຍ ພວກມານໄດ້ຢຸດລົງ ແລ້ວຍົກມື້ຂຶ້ນພະນົມ ໂຄ້ງຄຳນັບພຣະພຸດທະເຈົ້າ ແລ້ວຈາກໄປຢ່າງສະຫງົບ

ຂໍ້ຄິດຈາກເລື່ອງນີ້ :

ຄວາມຍົ້ວຢວນຂອງໂລກຈະປ່ຽນຮູບໄປເລື້ອຍໆ

ບາງເທື່ອຮຸນແຮງບາງເທື່ອອ່ອນໂຍນແລະງົດງາມ ແຕ່ສິ່ງສຳຄັນຄື 

'' ໃຈຂອງເຮົາ'' ວ່າຈະໄຫວຕາມມັນຄືຈະໝັ້ນຄົງຄືພູຜາ

 ຜູ້ທີ່ເຂົ້າໃຈຕົນເອງ ຍ່ອມບໍ່ຫວັ່ນໄຫວກັບການປ່ຽນແປງຂອງໂລກ

ແລະ ແມ່ນແຕ່ ''ມານ'' ກໍ່ຍັງຕ້ອງຍອມາສິໂຣລາບຕໍ່ ''ຈິດທີ່ຮູ້ແຈ້ງແລ້ວ''

When Mara Danced Before the Buddha 

One day, long after the Buddha had attained enlightenment and begun teaching the Dhamma to the world, Mara — the personification of temptation, ego, and worldly desire — returned. But this time, not with weapons or illusions of fear.

This time, Mara came as a dancer.

He wore ornate robes, flowing silk, and golden ornaments. He carried fans that fluttered with each step. The music began to play — haunting, beautiful, seductive. He danced before the Buddha, each movement designed to captivate, to charm, to entice.

It was as if he said, “So, Enlightened One… Let’s see how strong your Dhamma truly is. Can it resist the beauty and pleasures of the world?”

But the Buddha simply watched with eyes filled with compassion and deep understanding. He did not turn away, nor did he condemn Mara’s dance. Instead, he said gently:

“Mara… your dance is indeed beautiful.
But my mind does not dance with you.”

Mara’s movements began to slow. What was once confidence turned into quiet reflection. He stopped. Bowed deeply before the Buddha. And left — not in anger or defeat, but in peace.

The Message Within:

Temptation doesn’t always come as darkness.
Sometimes, it arrives in beauty, charm, and elegance.

But the awakened mind — the truly mindful heart — is not moved by appearances.

When you know your own mind, the world may dance before you,
but you will remain still like the mountain.

Even Mara, the great tempter, must bow before such stillness.
